Meet the team
Chris
Chris
Field Services & Fabrication Expert

“Old schooled” in the building trades, Chris Johnson formally trained as a carpenter and spent 27 years building and renovating homes and businesses in the greater Washington area. It’s this background that inspired his enthusiasm for the burgeoning technology behind CNC fabrication. At CAM, Chris provides design consulting, logistics support, and finishing touches on every project to ensure clients are thrilled with the final product. He especially helps general contractors see the enormous potential for leveraging CAM’s cutting-edge fabrication techniques.

Amy
Amy
Accounting & Client Management

Amy Bender is the spark that keeps the fires burning (and lights on) at CAM. Amy’s attention to detail and love of numbers made her the ideal fiduciary, but her real passion is rooted in the search for beauty. Formally trained as a theater designer, her flair for the aesthetic is apparent to all who have had the good fortune to see her work. Aside from acting as liaison between client and crew, she is often tapped for her design sensibilities and artistic touch. In short, she softens the edges of an otherwise industrial affair and provides sensible and valuable input throughout the process.

Steve
Steve
Estimating & Lead Fabricator

Steve Engel has a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in Materials Science and Engineering. He had his own furniture making and cabinet making business for 20 years before joining CAM. It is full circle for Steve as he began his career taking woodworking classes at our retail store, The Woodworkers Club/Woodcraft of Rockville.
